Hortensia Bryce was born in the sunny island of Jamaica and dominated at numerous national festivals for singing and acting. Famed actor and comedian Oliver Samuels said of her that she is one of the most talented actresses he’s ever known. She has performed across North America and the Caribbean, entertaining international audiences with her performances that include Jamaican folk songs, spirituals, and stories from across the African diaspora.

Hortensia is the Founder and CEO of Arts Unlimited Southwest, a nonprofit community arts center in Cleburne, Texas that offers music and art classes for all ages, and provides scholarships to disadvantaged youth. She also has a private studio for voice, is a Music Together specialist, and serves as music professor at Joshua Seventh-Day Adventist School. Hortensia holds a Masters degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas, another Masters degree in Education from the University of Montemorelos, a Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelors degree in Education from the University of the West Indies.
